Char and Clips

This was the final assignment for one of my drawing classes. We were supposed to take a fruit or vegetable and present it dynamically with small objects placed in the composition. The vast majority of the class used oranges because you could peel them and make the peel do interesting things. With mine, I had to prop it up the char leaf with 6-7 pencils and multiple toothpicks as well as light it with a bright lamp to get the shading correct. After 8 hours of drawing, the poor leaf was limper than a daisy that a child has had in their hair all day.

Done on black smooth paper (18"X18" inches) with colored pencil.

Fixed gently in Photoshop because of poor lighting when I took the photo of the final piece.
